ACQ is a beautiful store, well organized and has everything a dedicated quilter might need. The pricing is reasonable and they are adding more classes all the time. The staff is very helpful and friendly and it’s a delightful place to visit and dream up new projects.

The staff are friendly and helpful. They have a great selection of patterns, books, notions and fabrics. And they are willing to order an item in if it isn't in store.
The staff are kind and knowledgeable. Nothing is too much to ask; I never feel rushed. Their stock is extensive and they are open to special orders. They doubled their floor space in the last couple of years and WOW! I would have to be hard pressed to go to another quilt store in Calgary.

The staff-they are very knowledgeable and helpful. The store is big and beautiful! Many different lines available-Laundry Basket fabrics, Kaffe Fasset fabrics-just to name two of my favourites.

The staff are always so helpful and polite. The store renovations have improved the viewing and selection of fabric and sewing items. They continue to bring in new items such as patterns, vinyl and purse/bag supplies which keeps them current with sewists like myself. This is my go to store. Hands down

Care is given to place fabrics and notions in plastic bags to avoid damage from postal spills. Each parcel arrives with a special message from the Shipper. With the new renovations, the shop is even better. The lighting is good so it is easy to match colors. The staff, especially Kim, are excellent at helping with techniques and color choices. This is the best shop in Calgary.

Found the exact piece of fabric to complete a project. Very happy as I had been looking for a while in other places.
I appreciate shops who put staff time off during special times like Christmas, Thanksgiving, etc and who respect & honour days like Remembrance Day by closing - Along Came Quilting does this.
I was finishing a large quilt and I didn't have enough fabric to continue with the pattern which was very upsetting and stressful. When I went to see the ladies we found the closest match and they got me a pen that is permanent and I was able to make the same graphic marks on that fabric that will never come off that match the pattern that you couldn't even tell where things did not blend with the others. These ladies are fantastic and they have great suggestions like this when you're in a pinch. They definitely saved my day!!, Their support for the charity I sew for (Ujamaa Grandmothers - part of the Stephan Lewis Foundation) is amazing. They have provided us with class room space for a “Sew Day” & collect unused donated fabrics. They are always so much fun, as we sew up interesting items to sell & raise funds for the SLF. Each Sew Day is special………….
Just when I thought that I would never find what I was looking for, one of the staff came up to me and placed it in my hands.

I sew a lot of By Annie patterns. I was looking for a specific pattern they did not have in their store. A quick email asking if they could order it and presto it was done. Always willing to help.
I went in to find the backing for a quilt I had made and they took a picture of it and put it on there Facebook page. I haven’t been quilting that long and it made me feel so good.
Over 10 years ago, I became very involved with Quilts of Valour Canada. I went in the shop to see if I could put a note in their newsletter inviting quilters who be interested in this group to give me a call. The owner not only said she would do that, but we could have an initial meeting in their classroom, and we could use their classroom one day each month for a sew day. It was such an encouragement as I didn’t really know what I should do to get started. Our group is still going and growing, and we still meet the first Tuesday of each month at the shop to work on quilts of valour for our military men and women. We also have a group of quilters who meet in Cochrane, a small town just west of Calgary.
When I was a beginner quilter I brought in my blocks not knowing how to sash them or with what fabric. The staff member had me lay out the blocks and brought a number of fabrics and we chose the best one together and she explained how to sash and amounts of fabric etc. She was so helpful especially when I was so overwhelmed!
All my visits to this store are special.
It is a while back, but they spent copious amounts of time helping me find the “right” fabric!
in 2010 l had breast cancer and l was 13 hours away from home and my children for 3 months having treatment. Every day after my radiation l would go to this shop and l would sew. If the owner was staying late she would let me stay she would work, and l would sew. One weekend l was struggling with brain fog from the radiation and couldn't get my mitered corners correct. I was to the point of tears. l went home and had a good rest but dreaded going back the next to tackle these corners, l arrived at my usual time the next day, and some quilting elves had place my pieced my corners together. The thoughtfulness and kindness was so amazing l cried, l felt so LOVED that day, and every time l go in there.
They have always gone out of their way to accommodate me. When I’ve asked for special rulers or patterns, they always know where to find them for me.
They sponsored my Quilter of Distinction honour at a local quilt show!
This store generously opens their back room to our charity group. I have spent many happy moments there.
I needed fabric to go with a friend's chair upholstery. I didn't think I would ever find the right thing but the wonderful lady I talked with did - and in a place I wouldn't have looked!

I just completed my first beginner quilting class here and have signed up for a paper piecing class already. I think I’m hooked because of the teacher. She is amazing.
I needed a very specific piece of material which I found there.
I recently attended a sew along day at the store for the first time. My sewing buddies had been many times. The whole day was special - the staff even made coffee and loaded the dishwasher! Now, that's service!
I had a deadline for completing a quilt for a baby. The fabric I had purchased was picked by Mama and was not from ACQ. I went in as I was getting rather desperate and one of the staff spent 2 hours with me helping me choose coordinating fabrics settling on a design and completed size and then picking a backing. She also succeeded in calming me down. Most of the quilting stores in my city are not so accommodating The quilt was completed and delivered before the family moved overseas. Without that help I would probably still be working on that quilt.
I needed to match a fabric that had been purchased a long time ago and the staff (3 of them) helped me find something that was compatible so it was not glaringly obvious that it was a substitute. The staff there are wonderful!
I made a big mistake on a quilt, no worries as Kim sorted out how to resolve my error.
When I misread the yardage needed at home, they looked it up for me on line at the store.
I started ordering online during Covid. The parcels arrived so quickly and I was never disappointed - it was like Christmas morning everytime! I can always find what I need and many times- more than I need!! The staff lady who deals with online orders is amazing- thank you Sharla. And I am always thanked for my order with a personal note.
Last time I was at the store, the employee unwrapped a bolt of fabric and laid it under the quilt top I brought so when I flipped it over I got a good idea of how the material would work with my quilt. It was much better than just looking at the bolt. I appreciate the extra time she took to help me.
I went into the store to find backing material for 2 table runners I'd made for my daughter & I, that commemorate our Mom/Daughter trips to Maui. The top was made of Tula Pink fabrics, Zuma series (ocean theme), & when I showed it to staff member Betty, she immediately brought 2 bolts of fabric from a new line the store had just received, which were perfect! Her eye & sense of color coordination are remarkable, & made my choice so easy. I get so many compliments on that stunning backing fabric, it's amazing! Thank you Betty for all the help you give me every time I'm in the store!
Making a Charity quilt I had an issue about finishing it. The staff figured out how to calculate the remaining fabric and ideas for borders.
I wasn't sure about a pattern I was looking at Byannie, a staff member mentioned she had a friend that really liked the pattern. I bought it and have made several bags, great suggestion.
I had special ordered a ruler. The staff always checks the rulers before they ring them in and low and behold the ruler I had ordered had a piece of it broken off so they ordered another. Otherwise I would have put it in the bag and gotten home and thought that I broke it.
