The rulers surprised me by arriving not only on the day first stated but at the beginning of the day. Thank you for the shipment and wonderful customer service. It took me multiple times on the internet to find both rulers and to have them delivered in less than a month. None of my favourite Ontario shops nor the shops near me in BC carried these items. Hello! I just wanted to drop a note and send a huge thank you to Jill. She inspired my last quilt, or rather, her wonky asymmetrical striped quilt that hangs on the wall in store inspired me to just go for it and not be so worried about needing a precise pattern. She also helped me find the border and binding fabric and then gave me some fantastic tips on free motion quilting to finish it off. I ended up not doing the FMQ because while I was getting the hang of it on my practice squares, once I moved to the actual quilt it didn't work. But that's okay, I quilted it with straight lines but they went in all different directions, there was a section of off-set grids and even a section of irregular diamonds and I loved it. And on top of it all,she gave me the great idea to use the outline of a shark as the label because the nursery theme was sharks and I wanted to at least put a little bit of shark in the quilt. I ended up doing the shark as a turned edge applique because I was going to skip it, but I'm so glad I did it anyway because she was right. It looks fabulous! One of my friends even tried to convince me, oh so subtly, to make her a quilt with shark appliques all over LOL So thanks again! Now that the weather is turning, it's time to go back to knitting, but you have all been so fantastic helping me venture into quilting. I've attached the picture of the quilt and of the label. Such a great idea!

I want to thank you for bringing in the 'Ilene Bartos Seasons of the Heart BOM' set for me, and thank Sharla for invoicing and letting me know it was ready for pick-up.

I did that on Friday and while there, selected fabric for another quilt. Lynne was very helpful (she provided a second opinion on my choices, cut fabrics and processed the sale) and Kim called me shortly after I left to tell me I had forgotten an applique piece at the store.

The personalized customer service that you and your team provide to quilters like me is priceless and much appreciated.

The only small improvement you might want to consider is to have the staff member introduce themselves when they begin helping a customer. That would help create rapport even if the time together is only 5-10 minutes.

My order #15317 arrived yesterday, and I wanted to share that you have SAVED my quilt. Perhaps that is an overstatement, but I am thrilled and grateful nonetheless. My cousins, sisters and I have a "distance quilting club" led by an expert quilter cousin in Ontario. It's an interesting way to keep in touch over many miles. Our leader challenged me, a relative beginner, to do the quilt (pic attached). After all that work (sick of flying geese for awhile), I was short fabric to make the binding the same colour as the border. So... I went on a search with only a scrap of selvedge as reference, and frankly, not much hope of finding the fabric. I quickly learned that Northcott Dublin 9040 did not identify the colour! Hello! I just completed my fourth quilt and every single piece of the quilt came from your store. All the fabric, the batting, the thread, the pins to baste it with, all of it. It's not the most ambitious quilt I've done but it was the one where I felt most confident about my layout plans. The "portraits" are other people's design but the layout was all mine.
And I wanted to say thank you to everyone at Along Came Quilting who is always so supportive and so helpful. I don't think I would continue if it wasn't for all the great interactions I have in your store. Of course, every time I finish a quilt I proclaim "I'm never quilting again!" but that goes away in a week or so. Here are two pictures of the front and the back. It's supposed to be 36 by 52. I think it ended up being 35 by 52. Slight math problem. It's not perfect but I'm beginning to be okay with the fact that nothing ever is. So thanks again and I'll be back for the next one!

Hello Linda,
I was in yesterday, February 2, and I was very happy with my experience. I was looking for background fabric for a very large pieced heart…. Your associates Jill and Shandra (I believe that’s her name) we’re very helpful. They allowed me to spread out my quilt and we auditioned many possibilities for the two wide background stripes that I needed.
We discussed the layout of the stripes and they gave me good advice to cut the stripes length wise to avoid seams in the stripe. This was not what the pattern advised. Anyway I bought 4.5 metres of full price fabric which I’m not sure I’ve done before at 20.99 a metre. I was happy to do given the great customer service.

I cannot say enough good things about this store. We went in there mostly as a starter fact-finding mission to find out what was needed for my mother-in-law to make us a quilt. However, the staff was so helpful and patient, 2 hours later we left feeling very confident that we had everything needed to make the quilt. We knew nothing about quilting going in, and we were treated patiently, properly, never rushed, and never spoken down to. The store is immaculate, well-lit, and very well laid out. First visit. Drove from other end of the city because they were the only one with the strawberry fabric I needed. Little did I know until I got there, that they also have the best customer service in a fabric and sewing store anywhere in the city that I've had (and I've been to many over the years, they've already been great but this one beats them all!). She helped me with my homemade pattern too and helped draw it in opposite for other side so I wouldn't cut it backwards. I will just skip the other places from now on and continue to make the trip across the city to this place. OMG did I mention that you don't even have to buy a membership here like some other places?? I was gifted a really fancy schmanzy lamp (a used bluemax full spectrum) to help with seasonal affective disorder, which unfortunately lacked a specialty light bulb. The shipping from the states was jaw-dropping, so I looked for Canadian stores that held it. I guess this lamp is often used as a crafter's lamp, so luckily Along Came Quilting had one in stock. Good Morning,
About 6 weeks ago my sister and I, along with our husbands, visited Along Came Quilting while we were staying in Calgary on a visit from the UK. You may remember that you called a taxi for us as my husband was feeling a little tired and it was very hot. It transpired that he was developing Pneumonia and we had to fly home shortly afterwards. We were very thankful for that taxi for, as it turned out, there had been an accident on the Stampede rail system so no trains were running to and from the Stampede. Consequently taxis were in very short supply and we wouldn’t have been able to get one if you hadn’t called one for us! I have never quilted before.... they were so kind, Kim helped me pick out a quilt pattern from their display, to fit within my tight time constraints... Found the book that went with it, modified the pattern to be the size I needed.... Helped put a quilt colour scheme together. Calculated the amount of material I would need. After I got going with it, I had some questions on topstitching and remedies for slight block difference and on a Saturday, they were so patient and kind on the phone, wanting my quilt to be a success :). ...On a different subject, Linda, I wanted to thank you and your staff for always being so kind to me whether I have come in for help with fabric selection, or with a question that I am sure they have answered a hundred times before.  I think I told you before that I live in Riverbend and never knew about your store, until I tried to sign up online for the "block of the month club" and you called me to say that because you  were in Calgary it would be much cheaper for me to come in to the store instead of getting it mailed to me - dhh.  After my first disaster with Goggle directions I finally found you.  Ever since then without a doubt your store has become my favorite quilting store in the city.

This is a letter of appreciation to you for the time and work you did in preparing the 12 Days of Christmas Kit. 

This is the first time in all the years that I have purchased a kit that actually had everything in it that was supposed to be there.
 

The fabric was good quality, cut accurately so there was not a problem cutting the appropriate pieces.  All the fabric was labeled well.  The directions were clear, concise and easy to follow.

I am not particularly good at co-ordinating colour and am in awe of those who do it well.  The colours here when put together made a lovely quilt.  I enjoyed working on it and am happy with the result.

Thank you for the pattern, "Lazy Afternoon Quilt".  It will be a project a little later on.  Also the broach - love it and wear it.  Thank you.

I have included photos of 2 lap quilts that High Country Quilters made with the fabric that you & Trend Tex donated to our guild for use in charity quilts.  We have given these 2 quilts to Camp Horizon.  I believe that the quilts will be used by the children while they attend the camp.  We made them lap size so that they could be used for those in wheelchairs.  We have enough fabric left over to make 1 more quilt.  This will be on our agenda at an upcoming retreat.
