Linen Cloth

The natural flax fibers used to make linen give it a luxurious feel and smooth, cool surface.  The Linen cloth found here has been carefully woven as an evenweave.  Due to the uniform nature of this weave, it can be used for cross stitch by stitching over 2 threads or a single thread when patterns call for fractional stitches.  It can also be used for embroidery work - particularly the higher count fabrics.

Linen has natural thread irregularities and sometimes slubs are found.  These irregularities can make it more challenging to work with, but they give the fabric a natural character and traditional look that many stitchers love.
