Aurifil is excited to announce the launch of Thread Labs 2.0, the sophisticated successor to our inaugural educational subscription. Building upon the foundational knowledge provided in 2023, the 2024 program will offer an intriguing exploration of techniques and applications, guided by a distinguished team of educators. From July to December, participants will engage in an immersive learning experience, covering a diverse range of skills from FPP to Machine Quilting, through the practical use of various Aurifil thread weights.
Thread Labs is an essential resource for both seasoned Aurifil users and those new to our products. Each session, developed by our esteemed Aurifilosophers and Designers, includes an exclusive project that serves as both an educational tool and a source of inspiration for the featured thread weights. The subscription box delivers a meticulously selected assortment of threads, while our secure online portal provides subscribers with access to a wealth of exclusive materials, including project PDFs, interviews with educators, tutorials, special offers, and more.
The first lab, Lab 2.1, grants early access to the Aurifilosophy Cool Thread Exemplar, a compact spool storage case, and a unique thread tracking booklet. Aurifil Designer Nicholas Ball will lead subscribers through a creative project that utilizes several thread weights included in the Thread Exemplar, while tutoring via exclusive video content to ensure a comprehensive learning experience for all proficiency levels. Subsequent labs will introduce new educators, thread assortments, and innovative techniques, fostering an environment where creativity and skill development flourish.

100% of the cost is for product included in the box. The education portion of the box– along with any bonus assets– is fully complementary and exclusive to subscribers.
Pricing & Commitment
When you enroll for the program, you pre-pay for your first month charge of $109.99 (and any shipping and taxes). There is no additional "registration" fee. When we receive the first month's box, we will be mailing it to you without further charges as you have already paid for it. For subsequent months, we will be sending you an invoice for payment of the $109.99 cost plus shipping and applicable taxes.

**Upon registering for this program, you are committing to the entire 6-month installment program and any relevant shipping costs and will remain in it for the duration thereof. Your registration represents as your signature and agreement to this duration and financial commitment.**
Late enrollments may experience a delay in receiving the first lab box. But don't worry - it will be coming to you!
In-Store Participation & Pickup
Please enroll using this website. Select "Pickup" as your delivery method at checkout to avoid being charged shipping. When your first month's lab box arrives, we will notify you by email that it is in, and you can come pick it up at the front counter.
Each subsequent month we will send you an invoice for payment of the product and tax. You must pay this invoice before it will be available for your pickup.
Timing
This program is not packaged at our store. Therefore, we have no control as to when we will receive the shipments to our store. As such, we do not know the exact dates from July-December when the boxes will arrive. Trust that we will invoice and ship as soon as we receive them.
For the initial month of July, once we receive your lab box, we will ship and an email will be sent with the tracking number to you. Customers who pick up at the store will receive notification that the box is available for pick up.
For August - September, once you have paid your invoice for that month's lab box, an email will be sent with the tracking number to you. Customers who pick up at the store will receive notification that the box is available for pick up.
August 8, 2024 Update: New enrollees will not receive any boxes for approximately 1-2 months after sign-up as they must be ordered with the monthly shipment from Italy. There is not "extra" stock in North America from which to draw.

What is the Aurifil Thread Labs 2.0 Subscription Box program?
Threads Labs is a monthly education subscription program running from July to December 2024. Subscribers to the program will receive monthly thread boxes to distribute to their customers. Over the course of the six months, customers will gain all the necessary tools to more confidently create with a variety of thread weights and techniques, finishing the year inspired, armed with new skills and a wealth of knowledge.
How is Thread Labs 2.0 different than Thread Labs 1.0?
Thread Labs 2.0 builds on the educational foundation set by Thread Labs 1.0. The program features six new educators highlighting custom curated ranges of threads for 6 new projects. Boxes are focused on technique and on inspiring new and creative use of Aurifil threads. There are no repeats and subscribers who participated in Thread Labs 1.0 can expect a unique program experience with Thread Labs 2.0.
I didn’t participate in Thread Labs 1.0… can I still dive in to Thread Labs 2.0?
Yes, absolutely! Knowledge gained in Threads Labs 1.0 is not required for success with Thread Labs 2.0. That said, if you’re interested in gaining detailed knowledge of Aurifil’s history and a peek at our production process in addition to an in depth thread education on our available products, we’d highly recommend looking into Thread Labs 1.0.
What is included in the boxes?
Each box will include a range of Aurifil threads relevant to that month’s featured thread weight and technique along with access to a secure portal containing education materials & projects, exclusive videos, a monthly giveaway, and partner offers.
How long will content be available online?
Monthly secure online portals will remain active through June 30, 2025.
